In the good name of the Salesians of Addis Ababa, Brother Cesare Bullo, S.D.B. has advanced NCCL the equivalent in Birr (Ethiopia’s currency) of approx. 2,000 US dollars.
The NCCL apostolate simply ran out of funds to cover the last month of dialysis for Assefa Hailu Baraki before his arrival in the U.S. September 6 for transplant.
In his charity, Brother Cesare made the decision to keep paying the local dialysis clinic at St. Yared Hospital.
But now NCCL must reimburse the life-saving charity of the Salesians, whose fiscal responsibilities include caring for many tens & scores of thousands of the poorest of the poor in Ethiopia — not just in Addis Ababa. (See this post for an example of their ongoing, selfless charity.)
