In an exchange between NCCL’s Executive Director and Abba Abraha Baraki, of the Apostolic Prefecture of Robe-Bale, Father Abraha gives a detailed account of the most recent Mass intentions he & a confrère have brought to the sacred Altar in the past year on behalf of the benefactors of the NCCL apostolate who have donated to Operation Mission Stipends.

Subject: Thanks and Masses report — Operation Mass Stipends
Date: Sat Feb 02 2013 09:56:10 (EST) GMT-0500Dear Mr. Gregory,
Thank you for your all every time of great help.
[All remarks in brackets hereafter are added to message for clarity of meaning in context of the blog. ed.]
From October 10, 2011 to 24 January 2013 I celebrated [Divine Liturgy/Holy Mass] 552 times in the traditional Ge’ez Rite.
The intention of Masses I have completed in order [that NCCL gave to Father in previous e-mails]. If I don’t mistake, from 1 to 4 [as numbered on your previous list] included Masses intentions [that already] I have reported [to NCCL in previous e-mails].
Now [I report number] 5 [on the list], the Holy Masses [labeled] ‘d. to g.’ I also celebrated in the following days, as consecutive:
d. Holy Masses 184 times consecutively [for] the repose [of] soul of Martina Lloyd, from January 20, 2012 to July 21st celebrated.
e. Holy Masses 43 times consecutive for the repose of the soul of Lawrence Penny, from 22 July to Sept. 13, 2012.
f. Holy Masses 43 times consecutive for the repose of the soul of Emily Penny, from Sept. 14, 2012 to October 27, 2012 celebrated.
g. Holy Masses 84 times for the souls in Purgatory intentions offered from November 1st, 2012 to January 24, 2013.
Totally from [numbers 1 to 5., g. on the NCCL lists] 552 times Masses in the traditional Ge’ez Rite intentions I completed in [the] order [listed in NCCL’s previous e-mails].
Thank you again for your great help.
Now I have started 219 times Masses [beginning on] January 27, 2013.
Dear Gregory, I remember you with all your family and all our Masses supporters in my daily prayers and I hope you remember me in you holy prayers.
God bless you with your family and all with your works.
Yours truly,
Abba Abraha Baraki.

CC: Rev Fr Tesfamariam BarakiReverend and dear Abba Abraha,
thank you very much for writing, for the good report, and for your sacred Blessing.
As usual, it is a joy to receive word from you, but especially on the occasion of your beloved Mother’s 100th birthday! Father Tesfamariam [Baraki] has shared the news. My family and I have seen the special weblog and watched the videos posted there. How wonderful! God grant your Mother every blessing of heaven, and every good earthly thing, too!
On behalf of the friends and benefactors of the NCCL apostolate, and The Lloyd Family, I ask you please to express our congratulations to your Mother, and to tell her also that we are praying for her good health & salvation.
There is some more good news about Operation Mission Stipends. A few donors have donated more stipends (about $550 US), requesting approximately 50 additional Masses. I plan to send those to you soon.
Of course you already have many requests since the most recent transfer of stipends in December. Is it right for me therefore to assume that there is not the same urgency to send the newest stipends? Or shall I send them this month? (I could, for example, hold the stipends until March, or until you ask you to send them.)
Your blessing.
