And her Bishop begs you to be generous, to spare her life.
The following letter from Abune (Bishop) Tesfaselassie Medhin, Eparch of the Catholic Eparchy (Diocese) of Adigrat in northern Ethiopia, begs the charity of your help to spare the life of Hiwot Yohannes Tesfagiorgis, a young Ethiopian girl from his diocese, in the Irob region — perhaps the poorest and most dangerous region of Ethiopia.
Hiwot, whose father abandoned her some time ago and whose mother has fled desperately to Israel seeking employment to keep the family alive, is dying of Hirschsprungs Disease, which leaves her chronically constipated. The condition is so severe, it is also compromising her mental sanity.
Doctors and staff at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio have very generously offered to treat and perform surgery at no cost to Hiwot or her family. But NCCL still needs your help. Application alone to the U.S. Embassy in Addis Ababa is a major hurdle.
Please give generously. Go to www.national-coalition.org/#gift to give a tax-deductible donation today.
